Hope College setter Sophia Hackett has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Volleyball Specialist of the Week for play through October 8.
The junior from Indianapolis, Indiana (Brebeuf Jesuit) is honored for the second time this season and her career after leading the fifth-ranked Flying Dutch to MIAA victories against Kalamazoo and Alma last week.
Hackett averaged 36.5 assists, 7.5 digs and 3.5 kills over the two matches.
Hackett recorded 45 assists, nine digs and four kills in a four-set win against visiting Kalamazoo on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
Hackett followed that up with 28 assists, six digs and three kills in a three-set win at Alma on Friday, Oct. 7.
Hackett helped Hope improve to 15-2 overall and 8-1 in MIAA play.
