We are proud today at halftime to recognize our 11 All-Americans and five College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-Americans from the 2015-16 school year. The group includes All-Americans: Justin Freeman (track), Britni Gielow (golf), Dion Goliday (track), Lauren Hazekamp (volleyball), Erin Herrmann (cross country and track), Ryan Konkle (baseball), Boone Marois (track), Maura McAfee (basketball), Jane Pearson (track), Matt Pelyhes (track), and national champion Sarah Sheridan (diving). Hazekamp, Marois and McAfee were also Academic All-Americans along with Ben Gardner (basketball) and Jayne Kessel (volleyball).
The Flying Dutchmen are coming off a 1-0 win against visiting Adrian on Wednesday that knocked the Bulldogs out of second place in the MIAA standings. Sophomore James Reymann scored the decisive goal on a first-half penalty kick, while the Hope defense limited the Bulldogs to a total of four shots.
The Flying Dutchmen enter on a two-game win streak that puts them at 5-11 overall and 3-8 in MIAA matches. They won at Trine 5-1 on October 15 with two goals from freshman Jordan Ernst leading the charge.
Albion (7-8 overall) is in fifth place in the MIAA standings with a 6-5 league record. The Britons trail Kalamazoo by two points for the final spot in the four-team MIAA Tournament. After today, there are two league games remaining.
This is the 91st match between Hope and Albion. The Flying Dutchmen lead the all-time series 66-18-6, but Albion won this season's first meeting 1-0 on September 27.

Join us every Monday this fall for the Hope College H-Club Coaches Luncheons at Maas Auditorium. The one-hour program featuring two Hope coaches begins at noon. Cost is $10 and includes a buffet lunch. Men's soccer coach Steven Smith is scheduled to appear on October 31.
