The Hope College men's cross country team finished fourth at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships on Saturday.
The Flying Dutchmen totaled 106 points at Tomac Woods Golf Course but lost a sixth-runner tiebreaker with Trine for third place.
Senior Julian Morrison of Aurora, Illinois (Waubonsie Valley HS) led Hope with a 10th-place run of 26 minutes, 20.2 seconds.
Senior Tyler Brinks of Commerce Township, Michigan (Walled Lake Northern) finished 14th at 26:43.1.
Junior Ben Pederson of Mount Prospect, Illinois (Mount Prospect) came in 20th at 27:07.6.
Morrison, Brinks and Pederson all earned All-MIAA Second Team honors.
Sophomore Ryan Holman of Holmen, Wisconsin (Holmen) was 30th at 27:39.6.
Senior Nicholas Salomon of Troy, Michigan (Detroit Jesuit) rounded out the Flying Dutchmen's scoring in 32nd place at 27:45.0.
Other placers for Hope were sophomore Nathan Schloff of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian) in 34th at 27:55.5 and junior Jacob Jansen of Johnston, Iowa (Johnston) in 38th at 28:10.4.
Hope finished fourth in the overall standings after finishing third in the September 24 MIAA Jamboree. The overall standings count results of the MIAA Championship two-thirds and the MIAA Jamboree one-third.
The Flying Dutchmen are idle until the November 12 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional at West Ottawa Golf Club.
