The Hope College women's swimming & diving team won three events in a 169-131 loss to Kalamazoo on Saturday at Kresge Natatorium.
The Flying Dutch went 1-2 in the 200 backstroke as senior Molly Meyer of South Bend, Indiana (South Bend) recorded a winning time of 2 minutes, 11.08 seconds and freshman Erin Emmert of Grand Blanc, Michigan (Flint Powers Catholic) finished in 2:15.92.
Meyer, pictured, also won the 200 freestyle in 2:00.2.
The Flying Dutch had the two fastest times in the 500 freestyle: junior Chloe Palajac of Dearborn, Michigan (Dearborn) in first at 5:31.16 and sophomore Abigail Brinks of Commerce Township, Michigan (Walled Lake Northern) at 5:34.07.
Hope took second in the 400 medley relay. Meyer, freshman Paula Nolte of Elmhurst, Illinois (York Community), Palajac and sophomore Sydney Asselin of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian) went 4:05.77.
Brinks finished runner-up in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 19:13.62. She was second in the 50 freestyle at 26.20.
Emmert came in second in the 100 backstroke at 1:00.58.
Nolte won the 200 breaststroke in 2:33.43. She was runner-up in the 100 breaststroke at 1:10.23 and the 200 individual medley at 2:18.32.
Palajac took second in the 200 butterfly at 2:16.73.
Sophomore Sara Plohetski of South Lyon, Michigan (South Lyon) placed runner-up in 1-meter diving with a score of 218.60 points and 3-meter diving with a total of 236.50.
Asselin posted a second-place time in the 100 freestyle of 56.81.
Sophomore Elisabeth Craig of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids) was second in the 100 butterfly at 1:04.34.
Hope was runner-up in the 400 freestyle relay. Brinks, Meyer, Craig and Palajac had a time of 3:46.30.
The Flying Dutch's next meet is Saturday, Nov. 12 at Olivet.
