The winner of today's match will hold sole possession of first place in the MIAA standings. Hope enters with a 7-1-2 overall record and a second-place mark in the MIAA of 6-0-2. Kalamazoo (8-2-1) is 7-0-1 in MIAA matches. A win is worth three points in the standings, while a tie garners one point for each team.

Hope settled for a tie in the first matchup with Kalamazoo after the Hornets tied the score with 5 ½ minutes remaining in regulation on a goal from Allie Brodsky. Senior Elizabeth Perkins gave the Flying Dutch a 1-0 lead 6:25 into the match.

Allie Wittenbach is one of three players leading the MIAA with four assists this season. The Hope junior shares first place with Olivet's Isabelle Leon and Alma's Macalya Greiner.

Elizabeth Perkins leads the MIAA with 12 goals this season. She is tied for eighth among NCAA Division III players this season and tied for eighth all-time among Flying Dutch players. She has scored in nine of 10 matches this season.

Homecoming is approaching. Events will be held from Friday, Oct. 21 through Sunday, Oct. 23. The women's soccer team will play at Alma on Saturday, Oct. 22 at noon, but learn more about homecoming at hope.edu/homecoming.
