The Hope College men's golf team kept its overall lead while finishing second during the first round of the 36-hole Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Fall Finish.
The Flying Dutchmen shot a 298 Friday at Battle Creek Country Club to keep their overall lead at 26 strokes after 90 holes.
Saturday's final round in Battle Creek begins at 10 a.m. Hope is seeking a fourth consecutive MIAA championship.
Sophomore Andrew Goble of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS) carded a 1-over 73 during the first round to lead the Flying Dutchmen. He tied for fifth place.
Hope finished one stroke behind Calvin on Friday. The Flying Dutchmen lead Calvin by 26 strokes and third-place Kalamazoo by 28.
Gibson (71.2) and Munch (72.4) are first and second in the MIAA individual season standings.

Senior Winton Munch of Traverse City, Michigan (Central) and sophomore Ben Kramer of Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake) each fired 74s to tie for eighth.
Sophomore Josh Gibson of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville) rounded out Hope's scoring with a 77.
Freshman Noah Weigle of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville) played as an individual and shot a 70 that equaled the low round of the day by Calvin's Ben Van Scoyk.
Junior Kade Hoeksema of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian) had an 83 for the Flying Dutchmen.
