Two Hope College volleyball players have received All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association First Team honors for the 2016 season: setter Sophia Hackett and libero Alexis Thompson.
The two representing the Flying Dutch are among eight first-team selections.
Thompson finished third in the MIAA at 5.57 digs per league set. The senior from Monroe, Michigan (St. Mary Catholic Central HS) totaled 312 digs over 16 MIAA matches as Hope posted a second-place league record of 13-3.
Hackett topped the MIAA at 10.95 assists per league set. The junior from Indianapolis, Indiana (Brebeuf Jesuit) collected 613 assists over 16 MIAA matches.
Hope also had two second-team selections: outside hitter Sarah Feldpausch and middle hitter Courtney Van Houzen.
Feldpausch ranked fifth in the MIAA at 2.79 kills per league set. The senior from White Cloud, Michigan (White Cloud) also was an All-MIAA Second Team selection as a junior.
Van Houzen, a senior from Traverse City, Michigan (West), placed in seventh at 0.82 blocks per league set and eighth in the MIAA at 2.64 kills per league set.
