Two runner-up relays highlighted the final day for the Hope College women's swimming & diving team at the Wheaton, Illinois on Saturday.
The Flying Dutch finished second in the 200-yard medley and 400 freestyle relays.
The 200 medley relay of senior Molly Meyer of South Bend, Indiana (John Adams HS), freshman Paula Nolte of Elmhurst, Illinois (York Community), junior Chloe Palajac of Dearborn, Michigan (Dearborn) and sophomore Sydney Asselin of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian) posted a time of 1:48.71.
The 400 freestyle relay of Asselin, sophomore Abigail Brinks of Commerce Township, Michigan (Walled Lake Northern), Palajac and Meyer clocked a swim of 3:37.58.
Freshman Erin Emmert of Grand Blanc, Michigan (Flint Powers Catholic), pictured, took third in the 400 individual medley by clocking a time of 4:44.73.
Palajac came in third in the 100 butterfly with a swim of 59.04. Meyer was seventh at 59.94.
Brinks finished third in the 1,650 freestyle by going 18:17.06. Senior Payton Hoff of Clarkston, Michigan (Pontiac Notre Dame Prep) finished in 18:53.26, while senior Elizabeth Fris of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa) was seventh at 18:54.0.
Asselin came in fourth in the 50 freestyle at 24.83.
Nolte took fifth in the 200 breaststroke at 2:28.57.
Brinks was seventh in the 200 freestyle at 1:59.28.
The Flying Dutch finished fourth in the team standings. Washington-St. Louis won with 989.5 points and was followed by Wheaton (751), Wisconsin-Whitewater (681.5), Hope (602) and Wisconsin-Stevens Point (290).
Hope's next meet is Saturday, Jan. 7 at Calvin.
