Members of the Hope College men's and women's soccer teams presented a check for $5,785 to the Van Andel Institute on Wednesday during halftime of the Hope-Alma women's basketball game.

David and Carol Van Andel received the check from the teams' fundraising Purple Games last fall.

Hope hosted Purple Games to help raise money for Van Andel Institute's medical research and science education efforts.

Money raised also helps underwrite an internship for a Hope student at Van Andel Institute.
