Two fourth-place finishes helped the Hope College men's track & field finish 12th at the 20-team, two-day Emory Invitational on Saturday in Atlanta.
The Flying Dutchmen scored 29.333 points. Rowan won with 105 points.
Junior Julian Morrison of Aurora, Illinois (Waubonsie Valley HS) placed fourth in the 5,000-meter seeded race with a time of 15 minutes, 26.52 seconds.
The Flying Dutchmen's 4x400 relay of senior Gavin Midlam of East Lansing, Michigan (East Lansing HS), junior Cameron Jones of Holland, Michigan (Black River HS), sophomore Matt Ruff of Wayne, Illinois (Wayne Academy) and junior Nicholas Salomon of Troy, Michigan (Detroit Jesuit HS) took fourth in 3:22.30.
Salomon came in fifth in the 800 at 1:55.34
Senior Taylor Myer of Ludington, Michigan (Ludington HS) recorded a fifth-place hammer throw of 44.61 meters.
Freshman Ben Turner of Albion, Michigan (Olivet HS) scored in the pole vault by placing sixth at 3.70 meters.
Senior Boone Marois of Traverse City, Michigan (Traverse City Central HS) was seventh in the 100-meter final at 10.96 seconds.
The 4x800 relay of freshman Prescott Binder of Zeeland, Michigan (Zeeland East HS), freshman Nicholas Johnson of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), freshman Ben Madison of Kalamazoo, Michigan (Gull Lake HS) and senior Alek Molenaar of East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS) took sixth in 8:31.44.
Midlam finished seventh in 400 hurdles at 56.72.
Hope returns to action next weekend back in Atlanta for the two-day Emory Classic beginning on Friday, March 25.
