Hope College's Gavin Midlam has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Track Athlete of the Week for meets through March 20.
The senior from East Lansing, Michigan (East Lansing HS) won track athlete honors after posting points in a pair of events at the Emory Invitational on Saturday.
Midlam led off the Flying Dutchmen's 4x400 meter relay that finished fourth in a time of 3 minute, 22.30 seconds.
Midlam also placed seventh overall in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking in at 56.72. As a result, Midlam contributed seven points towards Hope's team total of 29.3.
This is the first time Midlam has claimed weekly track & field honors from the MIAA.
