The Hope College women's tennis team swept the top three singles flights to claim a 5-2 win against regionally ranked Augustana, Illinois on Saturday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional.

The 27th-ranked Flying Dutch improved to 6-4 overall with their second win in three matches at the two-day tournaments.

Junior Nancy Benda of Birmingham, Michigan (Seaholm HS) earned a point at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-3 win.

Senior Anna Garcia of Battle Creek, Michigan (Lakeview HS) earned a 5-7, 6-4, 10-4 win at No. 2 singles.

Senior Marie Holaway of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS) picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles.

Benda and Holaway teamed for an 8-5 at No. 1 doubles.

Garcia and freshman Taylor LaBarge of Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville HS) won 9-8 at No. 2 doubles.

Hope entered the match ranked seventh in the Central Region, while Augustana was 13th.

The Flying Dutch return to action on Wednesday, April 6 with their Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opener at Calvin.
