The Hope College men's golf team finished runner-up at the Trine University Bill Gettig Match Play Invitational on Wednesday in Angola, Indiana.
The Flying Dutchmen lost in the nine-hole championship match to Trine 4-0.
Hope finished with a 2-1 record on the day.
The Flying Dutchmen advanced to the title match by defeating Cleary 4-0 in the nine-hole semifinals and Defiance's B team 2-1 in the nine-hole first round.
Two Hope golfers posted 2-1 records on the day: junior Winton Munch of Traverse City, Michigan (Central HS) and sophomore Jack Geshay of Indianapolis, Indiana (North Central HS).
Freshman Andrew Goble of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS) went 1-1-1 during the tournament. Junior Alec Breit of Muskegon, Michigan (Western Michigan Christian HS) had a 1-2 record.
Hope returns to action on Saturday, April 23 with the first round of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's 54-hole NCAA Division III qualifier at Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids.
