The Hope College softball team lost to Trine 8-0 in five innings at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament on Friday at Alma College.

The Flying Dutch finished the season with a 23-18 record.

Trine (27-11) advanced to the championship round against the host Scots.

Hope collected four hits, including a double from shortstop Jenna Maury of Lawton, Michigan (Lawton HS).

The Thunder capitalized on 12 hits and seven Hope walks.
