Men's Cross Country Places Fourth At Ferris State Invitational

Jacob Jansen led the Hope College men's cross country team with a 13th-place effort at the Ferris State Ray Helsing Invitational on Saturday in Big Rapids, Michigan.

The junior from Johnson, Iowa (Johnston HS) clocked an 8K time of 27 minutes, 44.6 seconds at Katke Golf Course among the field of NCAA Division II and III and community college runners. He is pictured.

Hope finished fourth out of eight teams with 108 points. Ferris State (20) won.

Senior Nicholas Salomon of Troy, Michigan (Detroit Jesuit) placed 16th in 27:49.7.

Sophomore Ryan Holman of Holmen, Wisconsin (Holmen) took 34th in 28:32.8.

Freshman Joseph Dawson of Richland, Michigan (Gull Lake) came in 35th at 28:37.1.

Junior Nicholai Shaw of Allendale, Michigan (Home School) rounded out the Flying Dutch's scoring in 38th at 28:51.4.

Hope returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 24 at the MIAA Jamboree at Pine River Country Club in Alma.
