Hope is off to a 5-1-1 start to the season, including a 4-0-1 record in MIAA play that has the Flying Dutch tied atop the league standings with Kalamazoo. Alma is 3-3 overall and 2-2 in league matches.
This is the 51st all-time match between Hope and Alma. The Flying Dutch lead the series 34-10-6, winning one match 2-1 and playing to a scoreless draw in the other.
Junior Allie Wittenbach has been selected the MIAA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for matches through September 16. She totaled three goals and one assists over three league meets last week — all wins for the Flying Dutch.
Senior Elizabeth Perkins tops Hope with nine goals this season. She has 23 career goals for her career — tied for eighth-place all-time with Kim Nolan (1993-95) and Amy Dobb (98-2001).
