Andrew Goble Picks Up MIAA Men's Golfer Of Week Award

Hope College's Andrew Goble has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week for play through September 4.

The sophomore from Brighton, Michigan (Brighton HS) is honored with the recognition for the first time after a record-setting performance at the Olivet College Lou Collins Memorial Tournament last weekend.

Goble won the 36-hole, two-day event by finishing with a 7-under, tournament-record total of 137 at Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.

Goble fired a second-round 66 that included seven birdies, 10 pars and just one bogey. It was one of the lowest rounds in Hope men's golf history.

Goble completed play four strokes ahead of the nearest competitor, teammate Winton Munch of Traverse City, Michigan (Central).
