The Hope College men's indoor track & field team finished first in two events at the season-opening Aquinas College indoor quad on Friday in Grand Rapids.
Senior Cameron Jones of Holland, Michigan (Black River HS) clocked the fastest 600-meter time at the nonscoring meet with a run of 1 minute, 24.65 seconds.
Freshman Joshua Izenbart of Glenwood, Illinois (Homewood-Flossmoor) tied for first in the high jump with a leap of 1.96 meters (6 feet, 5 inches).
Junior Brandon Wolliston of Remus, Michigan (Chippewa Hills) recorded the second-best time in the 400 meters at 51.0 seconds.
Sophomore Louis Kopp of Spring, Texas (Providence Classical) placed runner-up in the triple jump with a leap of 12.78 meters (41-11 ¼). Sophomore Tucker Gibbons of Fowlerville, Michigan (Fowlerville) was fourth at 12.18 meters (39-11 ½).
Senior Tyler Brinks of Commerce Township, Michigan (Walled Lake Northern) posted a third-place, 1-meter run of 4:41.67. Freshman Nathan Schloff of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian) was fifth at 4:42.44.
Freshman Brenden Jones of Holland, Michigan (Black River) came in third in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:40.68. Freshman Andrew Vandebunte of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Byron Center) was fifth at 2:51.06.
Junior Benjamin Pederson of Mount Prospect, Illinois (Mount Prospect) placed third in the 3,000 meters at 9;26.05. Brinks was fourth at 9:41.46.
Sophomore Justin Freeman of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa) took fourth in the 60 meters at 7.19 seconds.
Gibbons finished fifth in the long jump at 5.92 meters (19-5 ¼). Kopp was fifth at 5.82 meters (19-1 1/4).
Freshman Ty Hergenreder of Davison, Michigan (Goodrich) was fifth in the 800 meters at 2:09.33.
Hope's next meet is the February 4 Windy City Invitational at the University of Chicago.
