Seniors Payton Hoff of Clarkston, Michigan (Pontiac Notre Dame Prep) and Molly Meyer of South Bend, Indiana (John Adams HS) went out winners in their home dual meet with an 111-70 victory against Alma on Saturday at Kresge Natatorium.
"Being on this team has by far been the best part about college," Meyer told the Holland Sentinel. "I have loved every second of it - every single second."
Meyer contributed a first-place swim in the 200-yard breaststroke of 2 minutes, 37.33 seconds. She was one of eight individual winners for the Flying Dutch.
Junior Elizabeth Fris of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa) clocked the fastest time in the 400 individual medley at 4:53.43.
Junior Chloe Palajac of Dearborn, Michigan (Dearborn) won the 200 freestyle in 1:59.13.
Sophomore Sydney Asselin of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian) took first in the 1,000 freestyle at 11:31.85
Sophomore Abigail Brinks of Commerce Township, Michigan (Walled Lake Northern) recorded the best 100 backstroke time at 1:05.13.
Sophomore Sara Hudson of Novi, Michigan (Pontiac Notre Dame PreP) was first in the 100 butterfly at 1:03.77.
Freshman Erin Emmert of Grand Blanc, Michigan (Flint Powers Catholic) went the fastest in the 100 freestyle at 56.92.
Freshman Paula Nolte of Elmhurst, Illinois (York Community) won the 50 freestyle in 26.83.
The Flying Dutch also won two relays.
In the 200 medley relay, freshman Alison Sobkowski, Alison of Portage, Indiana (Portage), Hudson, Palajac, and junior Adrienne Smith of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven) went 2:04.13.
In the 200 freestyle relay, Asselin, sophomore Elisabeth Craig of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids), Fris, and junior Sarah Zieschang of Austin, Texas (Veritas Academy) won in 1:47.11.
Hope's next meet is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships on Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 15-18 at Holland Community Aquatic Center.
