Swimmer Chloe Palajac Reaches Finals In Two Events At Chicago Phoenix Fall Classic

Meg Peel took second place in the 200-yard backstroke to top the Hope College women's swimming & diving team at the 12-team University of Chicago Phoenix Fall Classic this weekend.

The freshman from Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake HS) clocked a runner-up effort of 2 minutes, 5.85 seconds on Saturday.

Senior Chloe Palajac of Dearborn, Michigan (Dearborn) competed in the finals in two events.

Palajac, pictured, finished fifth in the 200 individual medley with a swim of 2:13.36. She also came in eighth in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:14.01.

Palajac also swam on the 200 medley relay that was eighth. She and Peel teamed with freshman Emma Schaefer of DeWitt, Michigan (St. Johns) and junior Sydney Asselin of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian) for a swim of 1:50.83.

Junior Sara Plohetski of South Lyon, Michigan (South Lyon) finished fifth in 1-meter diving. She scored 358.05 points.

Freshman Natalie Crandell of Okemos, Michigan (Lansing Christian) was 11th in 1-meter diving with a total of 334.15 points.
