The Hope College men's indoor track & field team recorded four top-five performances at the non-scoring Grand Valley State University Tune-up on Friday in Allendale.
Junior Brandon Wolliston of Remus, Michigan (Chippewa Hills) clocked his fastest indoor time of the season in the 400 meters at the Grand Valley State University Tune-Up on Friday. The Flying Dutchmen's school-record holder went for a winning time of 48.87 seconds that converts to 49.65 seconds for the Hope record books.
Senior Ben Seppa of Jackson, Michigan (Jackson) took fifth in the 200 meters with a run of 22.96 seconds. Junior Matt Ruff of Wayne, Illinois (Wheaton Academy was eighth at 23.06.
Seppa also qualified for the 60-meter finals and finished eighth in 7.43 seconds.
Hope's 4x400 relay of Ruff, junior Peter Timperman of Lafayette, Indiana (Faith Christian), sophomore Prescott Binder of Zeeland, Michigan (Zeeland East), and sophomore Benjamin Madison of Kalamazoo, Michigan (Gull Lake) placed fifth in 3:32.73.
In the high jump, junior William Henkel of Lambertville, Michigan (Erie-Mason), came in fifth after clearing 1.80 meters (5 feet, 10.75 inches. Sophomore Eddie Ip of Grand rapids, Michigan (South Christian) was eighth of 1.65 meters (5-5).
Sophomore Louis Kopp of Spring, Texas (Providence Classical) went 12.50 meters (41-0.25) in the triple jump for eighth.
The field included NCAA Division I, III and III competitors.
