The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association champion and nationally ranked Hope College men's golf team teed off the first time this spring and defeated Messiah, Pennsylvania 294-312 in a dual match Saturday in Florida.

Sophomore Josh Gibson of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville HS) carded a 2-over-par 72 to lead the No. 13 Flying Dutchmen.

Sophomore Andrew Goble of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton) chipped in a 73.

Senior Kade Hoeksema of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian) fired a 74.

Senior Winton Munch of Traverse City, Michigan (Central) added a 75.

Sophomore Ben Kramer of Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake) had a 76.

Hope returns to action on Wednesday, March 22 with a match against Luther and Guilford.
