Nancy Benda joined a former teammate and doubles partner atop the doubles standings in Hope College women's tennis history during a 9-0 win against Olivet on Thursday at DeWitt Tennis Center.
The senior from Birmingham, Michigan (Seaholm) claimed her 78th doubles win for the Flying Dutch during the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opener.
Benda helped Hope, ranked No. 23 in NCAA Division III by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, win for the seventh consecutive time to improve its overall record to 8-2.
Benda equaled the school record Carli Capestany set two years with a 78-29 doubles record. They were doubles partners Benda's freshman and sophomore years.
Benda is now 78-23 as a doubles player after she teamed with freshman Quincey Glupker of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville) for an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles against Olivet's Maddy Drikakis and BreAnne Rudlaff.
Benda also won her 60th singles play with a 6-1, 6-4 decision at No. 1 singles against Drikakis.
With a 60-23 single record, Benda is ranked 12th all-time among Flying Dutch players.
Hope returns to action on Saturday, April 1 with a home match against Calvin.
