Women's Tennis Tops No. 25-Ranked Denison, Ohio

The Hope College women's tennis team claimed a 7-2 win against Denison, Ohio on Saturday in a matchup of nationally and regionally ranked teams at DeWitt Tennis Center.

The 29th-ranked Flying Dutch took five singles flights and two doubles flights from No. 25 Denison for the nonleague victory.

Hope improved to 3-2 overall.

Three Flying Dutch players had a hand in both singles and doubles victories.

Freshman Amanda Bandrowski of Traverse City, Michigan (St. Francis HS) and sophomore Taylor LaBarge of Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville) teamed for an 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Bandrowski also recorded a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles, while Labarge earned a 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 victory at No. 4 singles.

Freshman Claire Hallock of Lakeland, Florida (Harrison Center) won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles and paired with senior Christin Drozd of Allegan, Michigan (Allegan) at No. 3 doubles for an 8-3 victory.

Hope returns to action on Saturday, March 18 with the first of spring break matches in Orlando, Florida.
