The Flying Dutchmen recorded a team score of 292 on Saturday in Grand Rapids for a nine-stroke lead on second-place Calvin. Kalamazoo (305) is in third, while Trine (325) is fourth.
Hope, the regular-season MIAA champion, hosts the final two rounds of the national qualifier on Friday-Saturday, April 28-29 at Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olive.
Senior Winton Munch of Traverse City, Michigan (Central) and junior Kade Hoeksema of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian) both fired 2-under-par 70s at Watermark Country Club to lead the Flying Dutchmen. They shared medalist honors for the round.
Sophomore Josh Gibson of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville) chipped in a third-place 71.
Sophomore Ben Kramer of Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake) rounded out Hope's scoring with a ninth-place 81.
