Box Score 2 Amanda Bandrowski, Claire Hallock and Christin Drozd all went undefeated for the Hope College women's tennis team against two nationally ranked opponents at the Midwest Invitational on Friday in Madison, Wisconsin.
They helped the 23rd-ranked Flying Dutch split their opening-day matches as Hope beat No. 36 Gustavus Adolphus, Minnesota 8-1 and lost to No. 10 Washington-St. Louis 6-3.
Hope (11-3 overall) concludes the tournament on Saturday.
The Flying Dutch opened the day against Washington St. Louis (8-6).
At No. 2 singles, Bandrowski, a freshman from Traverse City, Michigan (St. Francis HS), topped Grace Deering 6-3, 4-6, 10-3.
At No. 3 singles, Hallock, a freshman from Lakeland, Florida (Harrison Center), defeated Kaylan Griffith 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles, Hallock and Drozd, a senior from Allegan, Michigan (Allegan) won their No. 3 flight 9-7 against Mindy Borovsky and Sanjna Tripathy.
Against Gustavus Adolphus (11-5), Bandrowski beat Ally Baker 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
At No. 3 singles, Hallock downed Briana Hartmann 6-1, 6-4.
At No. 3 doubles, Drozd and Hallock claimed an 8-3 win against Katie Aney and Lilly Hartman.
