Three From Men's Track & Field Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Recognition

Three members of the Hope College men's indoor and outdoor track & field teams have claimed United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic honors for the 2016-17 school year.

Junior Benjamin Pederson of Mount Prospect, Illinois (Mount Prospect HS), junior Brandon Wolliston of Remus, Michigan (Chippewa HS) and freshman Joshua Izenbart of Glenwood, Illinois (Homewood-Flossmoor) are among 402 male Division III student-athletes to be honored.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have compiled a 3.30 GPA and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards:

  • Competed in a NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship.

  • Finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List.

Head coach Kevin Cole said, "I'm proud of Brandon, Benji, and Josh for their individual Academic All-American honors and feel they represent the best of Division III athletics."
