The Hope College men's cross country team finished fourth at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree on Saturday at West Ottawa Golf Club.
Senior Jacob Jansen of Johnston, Iowa (Johnston HS) topped the Flying Dutchmen with a 22nd-place effort of 26 minutes, 56.8 seconds.
Senior Benjamin Pederson of Mount Prospect, Illinois (Prospect) came in 26th at 27:22.4.
Sophomore Joseph Dawson of Richland, Michigan (Gull Lake) took 27th at 27:28.3.
Junior Ryan Holman of Holmen, Wisconsin (Holmen) placed 28th at 27:39.6.
Junior Nicholai Shaw of Allendale, Michigan (Home School) rounded out Hope's scoring with a 29th-place run of 27:50.5.
Hope's group of top seven runners included freshmen Ty Hergenreder of Davison, Michigan (Goodrich) in 31st at 27:54.9 and Zackary Murphy of Coldwater, Michigan (Coldwater in 32nd at 27:59.2.
Calvin won with a score of 24 points. The Knights finished ahead of second-place Albion (47), third-place Trine (77) and Hope (132).
