Men's Golf Wins Aurora Invitational Title By 25 Strokes

The Hope College men's golf team fired one of its best 18-hole rounds ever en route to claiming the 36-hole Aurora, Illinois Invitational on Tuesday.

The 13th-ranked Flying Dutchmen carded an afternoon round of 280 en route to a 36-hole total of 566. They finished 25 strokes ahead of runner-up Purdue Northwest in the 21-team tournament at Blackberry Oaks in Bristol, Illinois.

Junior Josh Gibson of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville HS) earned medalist honors at 4-under-par. He shot rounds of even-par 72 in the morning and a team-low 68 during the afternoon.

All five Hope golfers placed 11th or higher.

Junior Andrew Goble of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton) tied for third at 2-under. He shot a team-low 70 in the morning and 72 during the afternoon.

Sophomore Daniel Settecerri of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (Bloomfield Hills) also tied for third. He had back-to-back rounds of 71.

Junior Ben Kramer of Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake) tied for sixth at 1-over. He fired an afternoon 69 after a morning 76.

Senior Kade Hoeksema of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian) tied for 11th at 5-over. He had rounds of 73 and 76.
