The Hope College men's cross country team placed 12th overall out of 25 teams in the Lansing Community College Invitational on Friday.
The Flying Dutchmen scored a total of 300 points.
Sophomore Jacob VanderRoest of South Haven, Michigan (Saugatuck HS), pictured, led the Flying Dutchmen in the 8K race with a 56th-place effort of 27 minutes, 31 seconds.
Freshman Jonathan Outen of Hackensack, New Jersey (Hackensack) finished in 27:54 and took 72nd place.
Freshman Cameron Carpenter from Glencoe, Missouri (Lafayette) placed 87th after clocking in at 28:13.
Junior Jonah Engelhardt of Cincinnati, Ohio (Wyoming) ran a 28:22 for 93rd place.
Junior Andrew Schuring of Cedar Rapids, Iowa (Linn Mar) finished in 28:35 for 105th place.
Hope will run in two meets next weekend: at Muskegon Community College Invitational on Friday, October 12 and at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational on Saturday, October 13.
