Five Hope College swimmers have earned All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association honors for the 2017-18 season:
Senior Chloe Palajac of Dearborn, Michigan (Dearborn HS) is joined as an All-MIAA honorees by sophomores Erin Emmert of Grand Blanc, Michigan (Flint Powers Catholic) and Paula Nolte of Elmhurst, Illinois (York Community), and freshmen Meg Peel of Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake) and Emma Schaefer of DeWitt, Michigan (St. Johns HS).

Palajac is a four-time All-MIAA swimmer. This is the second such recognition for Emmert and Nolte.
Palajac, Schaefer, and Nolte swept the top three sports in the 200 individual medley with season-best performances of 2:08.42, 2:08.53, and 2:11.05, respectively.
Schaefer and Emmert went 1-2 in the 400 individual medley with season-best efforts of 4:37.52 and 4:39.72, respectively.
Peel swept the backstroke events, winning the 100 in 56.54 seconds and the 200 in 2:00.77. She set an MIAA record and improved her own school record during preliminaries with a swim of 56.01.
Peel won the 200 backstroke with an MIAA- and school-record swim of 2:00.77 in the finals.
Palajac won the MIAA title in the 100 butterfly in 57.19 seconds. She went a season-best 56.89 during preliminaries.
Emmert and Palajac finished first and second in the 200 butterfly with season-best times of 2:07.49 and 2:08.08, respectively.
Nolte was MIAA champion in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.01. She went a personal-best 1:06.50 during preliminaries.
Nolte also won the 200 breaststroke in a season-best effort of 2:26.04.
Peel, Nolte, and Palajac opened the MIAA champion 400 medley relay that had a season-best swim of 3:52.02.
Peel, Nolte, and Palajac also started the school-record 200 medley relay of 1:45.55 that placed runner-up at the MIAA Championships at 1:45.55.
Peel and Palajac led off the 800 freestyle relay at the MIAA Championship that clocked a season-best swim of 7:43.62.
Nolte, Emmert, and Schaefer finished the 200 freestyle relay that went a season-best 1:39.38 for third place at the MIAA Championships.
Peel, Palajac, and Schaefer started the 400 freestyle relay that posted a season-best swim of 3:32.89 for third place at the MIAA Championships.
