Two fourth-place finishes highlighted a successful weekend for the Hope College men's outdoor track & field team at the Rhodes Invitational in Memphis, Tennessee.
Junior Ben Turner of Albion, Michigan (Olivet), pictured at far right, came in fourth in the pole vault at the event featuring NCAA Division I, II and III competitors by clearing 4.40 meters (14 feet, 5 ¼ inches).
Junior Nicholai Shaw of Allendale, Michigan (Allendale), pictured at right, finished fourth in the 10,000 meters for the Flying Dutchmen with a run of 33 minutes, 28.16 seconds.
Hope recorded a fifth-place 4x100 relay as sophomore Korey Derr of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Northview), sophomore Emmanuel Harinda of Holland, Michigan (Holland), sophomore Adam Howard of Jacksonville, Illinois (Routt Catholic), and junior Justin Freeman of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa) posted a time of 41.92 seconds.

Senior Benjamin Pederson of Mount Prospect, Illinois (Prospect) placed fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase by clocking a time of 9:39.03.
Sophomore Joshua Izenbart of Glenwood, Illinois (Homewood-Flossmoor), came in fifth in the high jump by clearing 1.93 meters (6-4).
Sophomore Brandon Maurice of Howell, N.J. (Howell) matched Izenbart and finished sixth.
Freshman Ethan Larson of Glen Ellyn, Illinois (Glenbard West) was eighth at 1.88 meters (6-2).
Hope's 4x400 relay of freshman Terrell Solberg of Traverse City, Michigan (Central), senior Brandon Wolliston of Remus, Michigan (Chippewa Hills), Eddie Ip of Grand Rapids, Michigan (South Christian), and senior Matt Ruff of Wayne, Illinois (Wheaton Academy) placed sixth with a time of 3:22.86.
Hope's 4x800 relay of sophomore Brenden Jones of Holland, Michigan (Black River), sophomore Ty Hergenreder of Davison, Michigan (Goodrich), Wolliston, and freshman Zackary Murphy of Coldwater, Michigan (Coldwater) took seventh with a run of 8:11.97.
Izenbart recorded an eighth-place effort in the 110 hurdles of 15.81 seconds.
Freeman came in eighth in the 100-meter dash at 10.84 seconds.
Junior Collin Thomas of Novi, Michigan (Novi) was eighth in the 800 meters with a run of 1:57.45.
