Long jumper Tucker Gibbons and sprinter Adam Howard each recorded first-place performances for the Hope College men's track & field team at the Calvin Tune-up.
The Flying Dutchmen finished third at the 10-team meet with 94 points.
Gibbons, pictured at left, led a group of five scoring Hope triple jumpers. The junior from Fowlerville, Michigan (Fowlerville HS) recorded a leap of 12.84 meters (42 feet, 1 ½ inches).
Senior William Henkel of Lambertville, Michigan (Erie-Mason) took fourth at 12.12 meters (39-9 ¼).
He was followed by teammates Eddie Ip of Grand Rapids, Michigan (South Christian) in fifth at 12.00 meters (39-4 ½), Jared Lowe of Cincinnati, Ohio (Wyoming) in sixth at 11.84 meters (38-10 ¼), and Jager Haan of McBain, Michigan (Northern Michigan Christian) in eighth at 11.64 meters (38-2 ¼).
Howard, pictured at right, led a 1-2-3 Hope finish in the 100 meters. The sophomore from Jacksonville, Illinois (Routt Catholic) clocked a time of 11.18 seconds.
Sophomore Emmanuel Harinda of Holland, Michigan (Holland) finished second in 11.33 seconds. He was followed by sophomore Korey Derr of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Northview) in third at 11.41 meters, and freshman Emari Hardy of Muskegon, Michigan (Mona Shores) in eighth at 11.65 seconds.
Lowe was one of three Hope high jumpers to score with a third-place effort of 1.85 meters (6-0 ¾). Others were Henkel and Ethan Larson of Glen Ellyn, Illinois (Glenbard West), who tied for fifth at 1.80 meters (5-10 ¾).
In the 400 meters, freshman Terrell Solberg of Traverse City, Michigan (Central) placed fifth in 51.00 seconds. Junior Collin Thomas of Novi, Michigan (Novi) was eighth at 51.46.
Gibbons finished fifth in the 400 hurdles with a run of 1:01.09.
Junior Ben Turner of Albion, Michigan (Olivet) came in fifth in the pole vault at 4.27 meters (14-0).
In the 3,000 meters, sophomore Andrew Schuring of Cedar Rapids, Iowa (Linn Mar) took sixth with a time of 9:48.88.
Freshman Jacob Moore of Byron Center, Michigan (Byron Center) finished sixth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.67 seconds.
Two Hope long jumpers scored: freshman Luxas Bruxvoort of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian) in sixth at 6.23 meters (20-5 ¼) and Haan in seventh at 6.20 meters (20-4 ¼).
