The 14th-ranked Hope College men's golf team did not lose a match Friday en route to the semifinals of the Division III Match Play Invitational in Greensboro, N.C.
The Flying Dutchmen defeated 14th-seeded Christopher Newport, Virginia 3-0-2 in the opening round at Grandover Resort, then beat 11th-seed Transylvania, Kentucky 5-0.
Third-seeded Hope remains in the championship bracket on Saturday, along with top-seeded and seventh-ranked Texas Tyler, second-seeded and fifth-ranked Guilford, N.C., and fourth-seeded and 13th-ranked Greensboro.
Three Flying Dutchmen won both of their matches: juniors Josh Gibson of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville) and Andrew Goble of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton), and sophomore Daniel Settecerri of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (Bloomfield Hills).
Senior Kade Hoeksema of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian) and junior Ben Kramer of Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake) each won a match and tied one.
