Men's Cross Country Finishes Eighth At 17-Team Wheaton Invitational

Nathan Schloff posing for a portrait The Hope College men's cross country team came in eighth place overall out of 17 teams competing in the Wheaton College (Illinois) Invitational on Saturday.

The Flying Dutchmen totaled 268 points in the event that was moved to the morning because of 80-degrees temperatures in Chicago.

Senior Nathan Schloff of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS), pictured, led Hope by finishing 26th out of 245 runners with a time of 26 minutes and 13 seconds.

Freshman Nick Hoffman of Holland, Michigan (Holland HS) placed 52nd with a time of 27:22.

Junior Joey Dawson of Richland, Michigan (Gull Lake HS) took 59th by clocking a run of 27:45.

Senior Ryan Holman of Holmen, Wisconsin (Holmen HS) came in 65th with a time of 27:52.

Sophomore Zackary Murphy of Coldwater, Michigan (Coldwater HS) finished Hope's scoring with a run of 27:52 that was 66th.

Hope's next race is Saturday, September 22 at the Grand Rapids Community College Invitational.
