Three Hope College basketball players have been selected to play in this month's ADDIX Basketball Champions College All-Star Games at DeVos Fieldhouse.
Seniors Francesca Buchanan, Teddy Ray and Dennis Towns will participate in the annual event on Wednesday, March 27. The women's game will tip off at 6 p.m. The men's game follows at 7:30 p.m.
Top senior basketball players from the greater Grand Rapids area, or from local teams in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Big Ten, Mid-American Conference, and the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, are represented.
Buchanan is one of nine women's players on the Stars team that is co-coached by Hope's Brian Morehouse and Grand Valley State University's Mike Williams.
Ray and Towns are two of 11 men's players on the Stripes team that is co-coached by Hope's Greg Mitchell, Trine University's Brooks Miller and Cornerstone University's Kim Elders.
Tickets can be purchased at the door. Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets cost $20 for families, $10 for adults and $5 for children. College students are admitted for free if they show their ID.
Proceeds from the ADDIX Basketball Champions College All-Star Games will go to Hope College's Children After School Achievement (CASA) program that, since 1987, has helped at-risk school children by providing free after-school tutoring and individualized summer school.
