Women's Tennis Loses Twice at Midwest Invite, Four-Match Win Streak Snapped

The 30^th-ranked Hope College women's tennis team lost two non-league matches to two ranked opponents by identical scores on Friday at the Midwest Invitational. The two-day event is being hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in Madison, Wisconsin.

By scores of 5-4, the Flying Dutch dropped matches to 16^th-ranked Washington University in St. Louis (Missouri) and 35^th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College (Minnesota).

Junior Claire Hallock of Lakeland, Fla. (Harrison Center HS), junior Amanda Bandrowski of Traverse City (St. Francis HS) and freshman Sydney Jackson of Fort Wayne, Ind. (Carroll HS) were victorious in each of their two singles matches on the day.

The losses halted Hope's four-match winning streak. The Flying Dutch have a 8-5 overall record and are 3-0 in the MIAA.

The Flying Dutch play tomorrow at 8 a.m. Central against University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
