Women's & Men's Track & Field: MIAA Field Day Preview

Hope College is hosting the 126th Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Field Day men's and women's track & field championships on Thursday-Friday, May 2-3.

MIAA Field Day is the longest-running championship event hosted by the conference. The first one was held in 1888.

Competition will be held at Brewer Track. On Friday, the first event begins at 12:00 p.m. On Saturday, the first first event starts at 10 a.m. and the first track event gets underway at 1:30 p.m.

Admission costs, each day, $7 for adults and $5 for non-MIAA students. MIAA students are free.

In 2018, the Flying Dutch repeated as MIAA women's champions and claimed their fifth outdoor league title overall.

Three Hope athletes are returning MIAA individual champions: junior Addyson Gerig of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa) in the high jump, junior Chelsea Miskelley of Holland, Michigan (Black River) and junior Hailey Pickelheimer of Powell, Ohio (Olentangy Liberty) in the 400-meter hurdles.

The Flying Dutchmen finished fourth place at MIAA Field Day last season.
