The 2018-19 Hope College men's basketball team has earned the National Association of Basketball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award.
The NABC honor recognizes outstanding academic achievement by teams with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better for the 2018-19 season. All men's student-athletes who competed during the 2018-19 season must be counted.
The Flying Dutchmen recorded a 3.36 grade point average last year.
Head coach Greg Mitchell said the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award is a credit to his team's collective effort and a well-deserved honor.
"I'm exceptionally proud of their work ethic on and off the court," Mitchell said. "This is a testament to these guys knowing how important it is to be champions in the classroom. There is nothing easy about maintaining great grades at Hope College."
