Women's Golfer Jordyn Rioux Shoots Season-Low During First MIAA Jamboree

Hope College golfer Jordyn Rioux found Pine River Country Club to her liking.

The junior from Farmington, Michigan (Livonia Ladywood HS) fired a season-low, 7-over-par 79 on Saturday during the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree of the season.

Rioux, pictured, helped the Flying Dutch record a team score of 334 that tied jamboree host Alma College for second place in the nine-team event. Saint Mary's shot a MIAA course-record 312 to finish first.

Junior Abigail Meder of Lansing, Michigan (Lansing Catholic Central) shot an 81 to tie for seventh place out of 54 golfers.

Sophomore Megan Jenkinson of Traverse City, Michigan (T.C. Central) chipped in an 84 and tied for 17th.

Freshman Grace VanDellen of Oxford, Michigan (Lutheran Northwest) completed Hope's team scoring with a 90.

Sophomore Lexi Miller of Bremen, Indiana (Bremen), also in the Flying Dutch's starting lineup, recorded a 94.

Playing as an individual, freshman Rita Cheney of Mason, Michigan (Mason) carded an 88 for the Flying Dutch.

Hope returns to competition on Tuesday, September 17 at the Duck Lake Country Club Invitational hosted by Albion College. Start time is 1 p.m.
