High Jumper Addyson Gerig Finishes Eighth In High Jump at GVSU Indoor Meet

Addyson Gerig tied for eighth place in the high jump and took 13th in the triple jump for the Hope College women's indoor track and field team at the Grand Valley State University Bill Clinger Classic on Friday.

Gerig, pictured, cleared 1.55 meters in the high jump (5 feet, 1 inch). The senior from Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS) leapt 9.95 meters in the triple jump (32-7 ¾).

Senior Mitchel Achien'g of Nairobi, Kenya (Kisumu) placed 13th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.37 seconds.

Senior Sally Hansma of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven) recorded a 16th-place 800 meter run of 2:23.26.

Freshman Ana Tucker of Midland, Michigan (H.H. Dow) was 18th in the 3,000 meters by clocking a run of 10:24.97.

The Flying Dutch finished in 20th place.

Hope's next meet is Friday, January 31 at Aquinas College.
