Leah Newhof Named MIAA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week

Hope College's Leah Newhof has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Tennis Player of the Week.

The senior from Caledonia, Michigan (Grand Rapids Christian HS) has claimed the honor for the first time after going undefeated in singles and doubles play for the Flying Dutch during a 5-4 loss to North Central (Illinois) on Saturday at home.

At No. 2 singles, Newhof defeated Hannah Hougland in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.

At No. 1 doubles, Newhof teamed with Sydney Jackson for an 8-3 victory against Hannah Hougland and Alaina Kanthaphixay. Newhof is unbeaten in singles and doubles play this season.
