Hope College's Cole Scheffler is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week.

The junior faceoff get off specialist from Rockford, Michigan contributed to Flying Dutchmen wins at Albion College (23-18) and Kalamazoo College (20-4) last week.

Scheffler won 77.6 percent of faceoffs during the two games (38/49). The Spanish major also collected 11 ground balls, including nine against Albion in a matchup of unbeatens.

This is Scheffler's first MIAA Athlete of the Week award.
