Playing for the second consecutive day, the Hope College men's golf team put up its lowest score of the spring for the second consecutive day, too.
The Flying Dutchmen posted a season-low round of 295 at the fourth MIAA Jamboree held at Duck Lake Country Club after carding a previous low of 300 the day before in the league's third round at Hope's home course.
Hope coach Scott Lokers' team finished in third place at the league event hosted by Albion College. Trine University won for the fourth time this spring, posting its third sub-300 round with a 288. Calvin University took second place with a 292.
In the overall standings at the halfway point, Hope still remains in second place with a 90-hole total of 1,211 (302.75/avg). Trine leads with 1,173 strokes (292.25 avg) while Calvin is in third with 1,214 (303.5 avg).
Freshman Will Robson (Grand Rapids, Mich./ East Grand Rapids HS), pictured, was the low Flying Dutchmen, firing a two-over 72 and tying for fifth place individually. He was seven strokes in back of medalist and Calvin golfer Sam Holland who tied the MIAA low-round record with a 65.
Robson was followed closely by teammates Brian Marx, a freshman from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (Bloomfield HS) who carded a 73, and Jack Crawford, a sophomore from Carmel, Indiana (Carmel HS) who finished with 74 strokes.
Sophomore Tm Wageman (Chesterfield, Mich./Saline HS) shot a 76 while sophomore Seth Almquist (Minneapolis, Minn./ Wayzata HS) had 78 strokes.
Hope is off until the fifth MIAA Jamboree on Saturday, April 10 at Trine's Zollner Golf Course. Tee time is 1 p.m.
