Men's Cross Country's Connor Vachon Finishes 10th at Augustana Invitational

Sophomore Connor Vachon clocked a 10th-place finish for the Hope College men's cross country team at the Augustana College (Ill.) Interregional Invitational on Saturday.

Vachon (Jenison, Michigan / Jenison) recorded a 8K time of 24 minutes, 3.4 seconds for his spot in the 27-team Varsity Division field of 276 runners. Hope posted a 12th-place total of 334 points.

Senior Anders Bogard (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Kalamazoo Christian) posted a 76th-place run of 25:12.5.

Junior Eli Meder (Williamston, Michigan / Lansing Catholic) took 99th with a time of 25:29.6.

Freshman Carston Cole (Holland, Michigan / West Ottawa) finished 101st at 25:29.9.

Senior Gabe DeYoung (Saegertown, Pennsylvania / Saegertown) clocked a 104th-place run of 25:32.4.

Other Hope finishers were:

96. Sophomore Lucas Guidone (Chicago, Illinois / Home School), 25:38.6;
100. Junior Dan Campbell (Brighton, Michigan / Brighton), 25:44.3.

In the Open Division, Hope finished eighth out of 22 teams.

Sophomore Cole Jensen (Montague, Michigan / Montague) placed second out of 257 runners with a run of 25.22.4.

Senior Luke Shoemaker (Elkhart, Indiana / Concord) recorded a 36th-place time of 26:07.7.

Freshman Nile Devers (Gobles, Michigan / Gobles) clocked a 66th-place run of 26:41.5.

Freshman Erickson Kunzler (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Catholic Central) posted an 80th-place time of 26:53.8.

Senior Aidan Jones (West Olive, Michigan / Black River) finished 87th at 27:00.1.

Freshman Luke Skuratowicz (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Central) was 109th at 27:18.8.

Hope's next race is on Saturday, Oct., 29, at the MIAA Championships hosted by Alma College at Shepherd High School.
