Five More Top 10 Women's Swim Performances Recorded at Kenyon Invite

Hope College women's swimmers made another big splash on Saturday to close out the three-day Kenyon College Total Performance Invitational in Gamberi, Ohio.

The 12th-ranked Flying Dutch recorded five more Top 10 performances in their history during the final day and secured a fourth-place total of 1,055 points.

Hope finished behind top-ranked Kenyon (2,803.5 points), NCAA Division II West Chester University, Pa. (1,548) and 11th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University, Pa. (1,465).

In the 100-yard freestyle, the Flying Dutch now have three of the fastest performances.

Freshman Laurel Wasiniak (Northville, Michigan / Northville HS) posted the top finish on the day with a fifth-place swim at the meet of 51.57 in the 'A' final.

Sophomore Greta Gidley (Franklin, Michigan / Mercy) is now Hope's seventh-ranked individual in the event after a sixth-place effort of 52.09.

Freshman Bella Turner (Chelsea, Michigan / Chelsea) is tied for eighth for the Flying after a ninth-place time of 52.42 in the 'A' final.

Sophomore Lauren Ryle (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Catholic Central) owns the 10th fastest time for Hope after a 14th-place time of 52.79.

Freshman Maggie Monroe (Eaton Rapids, Michigan / Eaton Rapids) placed 18th in the race at 53.39.

In the 200 back, sophomore Sara Kraus (Rockford, Michigan / Rockford) finished third in the 'A' final at 2:00.21 and was touched at the wall by Kenyon's Olivia Smith (1:59.87) and Carnegie Mellon's Savannah Xu (2:00.09).

Freshman Katie Hermann (Canton, Michigan / Mercy) is now ranked fourth in the event at Hope after recording a sixth-place time of 2:03.55.

Sophomore Norah Martin (Middleton, Wisconsin / Middleton) took 17th in the 'B' final at 2:08.53.

Freshman Ashlea Swingewood (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel) is the Flying Dutch's sixth-ranked individual in the 200 butterfly following a fifth-place swim of 2:07.09.

Senior Alyssa Kerkman (South Bend, Indiana / Saint Joseph) finished 18th in the 'B' final at 2:11.49.

Hope placed two of the top seven 400 freestyle relays.

Turner, Gidley, Wasiniak and Ryle placed fifth at 3:29.44.

Junior Delaney Wesolek (Bay City, Michigan / John Glenn), Kraus, Hermann and Monroe finished seventh at 3:34.00.

Senior Aubrey East (Farmington Hills, Michigan / North Farmington) clocked a 19th-place 200 breaststroke of 2:29.77 in the 'B' final..

Martin finished 20th in the 1,650 freestyle at 18:26.36.
