Olivia Quillan and Ana Tucker Race to Victories at Holiday Open in Saginaw

A pair of Hope College women's indoor track and field runners won events at the Saginaw Valley State University Holiday Open on Saturday.

Senior Ana Tucker and junior Olivia Quillan clocked first-place times in the 3,000 and 5,000 meters, respectively.

Tucker (Midland, Michigan / Midland HS) clocked a winning effort of 9 minutes, 36.11 seconds that was only 2.61 seconds off of her school record.

Tucker finished 2 minutes and 17 seconds ahead of runner-up Hannah Assenmacher of Lawrence Tech University.

Quillan (Grandville, Michigan / Calvin Christian) recorded a winning 5,000 meter run of 18 minutes, 6.35 seconds.

Quillan crossed the finish line 1 minute and 38 seconds ahead of Xochitl Garcia of Siena Heights University.

Hope's next meet is Friday, January 20, at the Aquinas College John Flaminio Classic.
