The Hope College women's tennis team took down Oberlin College, 6-3, on Friday at DeWitt Tennis Center.
The Flying Dutch claimed swept all three points in doubles, and snagged three wins in singles.
At No. 1 doubles, senior Sydney Jackson and freshman (Fort Wayne, Indiana / Carrol HSl) Sullivan Patel (Birmingham, Michigan / Wylie E. Groves)took down their opponent 8-1. Senior Saydee Johns (Holland, MI / Holland) and partner junior Taylor Truman (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville) defeated their Oberlin opponent 8-7 at the No. 2 doubles spot. At No. 3 doubles, and to complete the sweep of Oberlin, sophomore Annika Weeber of Rockford, Michigan (Grand Rapids Christian) and junior Delanie Riebschleger, also of Rockford, Michigan (Rockford), claimed an 8-5 victory on Friday.
Three points came from the singles matches, as Jackson, Johns and freshman Alexi Lewis (Cedar, Michigan / Saint Francis) took home wins. Jackson would take her win with 6-4 and 6-0 victories, Johns tallied 6-3 and 7-6 against her Oberlin opponent, and Lewis swept her competition, 6-0 and 6-0.
Hope is now 3-1-2 on the season.
The Flying Dutch's next match is Saturday, Feb. 26, at 9 a.m. at home against Case Western Reserve and again on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. against Chicago at home.
