Two Hope College juniors clocked winning times for the Hope College women's outdoor track and field team at the Emory University (Ga.) Invitational last weekend in Atlanta.
Ellie Jankowski (Granger, Indiana / Penn HS) recorded a first-place, 800-meter run of 2 minutes, 19.88 seconds.
Anna Mason (Zeeland, Michigan / Libertas Christian) posted a first-place, 5,000-meter effort of 18:06.21.
The Flying Dutch totaled 28 Top-10 performances at the two-day, non-scoring meet.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, freshman Maddy Struck finished runner-up in 12:22.16. Sophomore Katie Cole placed fourth at 12:38.21. Senior Madelyn Marciniak was eighth at 14:04.91.
In the 1,500 meters, sophomore Rebecca Markham took third at 4:47.25. Senior Heleyna Tucker was fifth at 4:52.03.
In the 3,000 meters, freshman Jane DeGroot recorded a third-place effort of 11:22.31. Freshman Kennedy Kuhlmann was seventh at 11:39.42. Freshman Lauren Taylor was 10th at 11:56.17.
In the 5,000 meters, sophomore Libby Gorman clocked a third-place run of 18:39.15. Senior Jacinda Cole placed fourth at 18:40.44. Sophomore Olivia Quillan was fifth at 18:42.52.
In the 800 meters, Tucker posted a fourth-place of 2:25.02. Sophomore Erin Moran was 10th at 2:34.58.
In the high jump, freshman Allison Schram recorded a fourth-place leap of 1.50 meters (4 feet, 11 inches). Senior Lindsay Lane was fifth at 1.40 meters (4-7). Sophomore Taylor Novotny was ninth at 1.40 (4-7).
In the shot put, freshman Greta Robrahn finished fifth with a loss of 12.55 meters (40-9 3/4). Junior Amelia Bont was seventh at 11.62 meters (38-1 1/2).
The 4x400 relay of sophomore Madeline Moore, junior Grace Behrens, senior Anna Haseley, and junior Julie Timperman clocked a fifth-place effort of 4:14.36.
In the 400 hurdles, senior Hayley Holland posted a seventh-place run of 1:09.41.
In the discus, Robrahn placed seventh with a toss of 36.69 meters (120-4).
In the javelin, Libby Strotman finished seventh with a heave of 28.10 (92-2). Sophomore Lauren Tocco was ninth at 26.52 (67-0).
In the hammer throw, Bont took eighth at 36.5 (119-9).
In the 100 meters, Behrens placed ninth at 12.90.
