The Hope College women's golf team shot a second-round score of 337 during the second round of the MIAA's NCAA Division III Championships 54-hole qualifier on Friday.
Senior Megan Jenkinson (Traverse City, Michigan / Traverse City West HS), pictured, tied for second by carding a 9-over-par 81 at Clearbrook Golf Club in Saugatuck.
The Flying Dutch finished 14 strokes behind Saint Mary's College at the four-team event.
Hope moved into sole possession of second place in the overall standings, breaking a tie with Adrian College. Saint Mary's (649) is in the lead, followed by Hope (680), Calvin University (686), and Adrian College (692).
The final round tees off at Clearbrook on Saturday, April 23, at 10 a.m.
Amid a rainy finish on Friday, Saint Mary's Isabel Patacsil claimed second-round medalist honors by shooting a 78.
Hope also received an 83 from senior Megan Radaz (Alma, Michigan / Alma), an 85 from sophomore Abby Fansler (Muskegon, Michigan / Reeths-Puffer), an 88 from sophomore Emlin Munch (Traverse City, Michigan / Traverse City Central), and a 90 from junior Grace VanDellen (Oxford, Michigan / Lutheran Northwest).
